Embossing / Distressing Technique
Hello Everyone!

If you want to follow my blog as well I would greatly appreciate it.
Below is a picture of the Bo Bunny – Serenity – Jewels as my part of the prize that you can win by leaving a comment here on my blog. I hope that you will also follow me. Be sure to stop by each blog
to get a sense of the big prize for one lucky person who comments on each blog until noon on Feb.17th.

Now onto my project for THE HOP!!!
For my project I used the Bo Bunny – Serenity paper collection
as well at Tim Holtz distressing inks, embossing powder
for my embossing / distressing technique
Below is a picture of the first ticket my husband gave to me when we first celebrated Valentine’s as a married couple. The coupon ticket was my inspiration for the coupon book I did for my technique mini coupon album project.

I first gathered all my supplies. Heat gun, embossing tray, clear embossing powder,
Tim Holtz distressing inks, ink applicator, clear block, 2 different size heart stamps,
versa mark, paper and embellishments.

2 clear heart stamps, block and versa mark

Pick out the different pattern Bo Bunny – Serenity paper I wanted to use and how I wanted to lay out my mini album

Stamped the two different size hearts on all the pages front and back with versa mark.
Then poured clear embossing powder over them. Removed excess and warmed up image with heat gun.

The hearts then resulting into
clear raised hearts on the page.

Here is a look at all the pages embossed with a different heart pattern.

I then cut 1×3 strips of paper to make as my coupon tags to fit inside my ribbon pockets in the mini album.
Distressed them with ink and continued the clear heart embossed image on top of each tag.

I placed a ribbon at the bottom only taping the edge and the
bottom to leave the top loose to act like a pocket for the strip of paper to slide in.

Front cover. Embossed and distress the background to give the paper more of a background image. Lightly embellish with love symbol, kiss metal tag and metal black flower. Hold together with mini snap on rings and tie ribbon around for decoration.

Front cover. Embossed and distress the background to give the paper more of a background image.
Lightly embellish with love symbol, kiss metal tag and metal black flower.

Inside the album, total of 6 pages.
Will post pictures of all the pages in tomorrow’s blog post.
There you have a great way to give your paper and extra background image with raised embossing and distressing and inking over the top to help accentuate the embossed image. Hope you give this technique a try on your next project. Goes great on cards, scrapbook pages and any other project.
The Hens’ Den store has a great selection of embossing powders and distressing inks.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
