My paper collection for this month is Bo Bunny – Serenity. It has a nice color combo between both neutrals and bold colors and I love the asian inspired flare to it as well.
For my 12×12 double layout I wanted to sketch my engagement to my husband in 2005. We were fortune to have someone take pictures of us as the moment happened. When I found all the pictures I needed, it turned out to be about seven photos to help tell the great story or our engagement that night.
I turned to Pinterest for some inspired sketches to help me layout my photos. I found Inspired Blueprints Sketch #4 to help me get started. Below is what the sketch looks like.

Inspired BLUEPRINT Sketch #4
This paper collection went great with my New Year’s Engagement photos from about 7 years ago.
I was happy to finally scrapbook this event. It was one of the happiest of day with my future husband at the time.

My husband proposed to me on a dance floor at the strike of midnight, before it was time to kiss, he asked some random stranger to take our picture before midnight. At the time I was confused and thought wow, I’m into pictures, but not that much? Luckily that very nice stranger captured the moment perfectly of my husband proposing to me. With a disposable camera also, we are lucky to have such great pictures in a dark room.

For the title it was only appropriate to call it “New Year’s Engagement”. It was hard to photograph the New Year’s words, as it is metallic lettering.
I love a layout where I can get the extra mileage on putting as many photos as I can fit to tell the story, especially with pictures. With this layout I used seven pictures. Not all your pictures has to be 4×6 or 5×7. I trimmed each photo to keep the important part of the image and cut out the excess and I stayed almost consistent in size with one another to line up in box-like layout.
I used a lot more sewing in this layout to help match the depth and richness of the paper and give it that extra zen that the lanterns were already doing.
Even though our engagement took place at a beach casino, I really enjoyed using the
Bo Bunny – Serenity collection , because of the reds and light browns helped bring the color out of the darkness in the photos. Plus the lanterns reminds me of celebration and this is exactly what this day was about. Celebrating my New Year with my soon to be husband that year in 2005.
