Summer and Vacation Digi Challenge #21

Hey to my Scrappin Posse pals,

I am posting today about a fun design challenge team I am on, will go on more about it in another post. We use digital stamped images from our sponsors to color in and make our cards with. For the month of May. our theme challenge is Summer and Vacation and I used a Meljen’s image called Beach Umberella.

I am so ready for beach trips, even have one planned for this weekend with some scrappy friends.
This cute little Beach Umberella image put me in the right mood. Check it out below.

 

I colored the Beach Umbrella digi image in photoshop using various swatches and paint brushes.
While coloring I try to use the same techniques as I would with Copic markers. I don’t fully color everything in in some areas to make it look like it is highlighted and to showcase the black
outlines of the image.

Check out the stages below in how I color my Beach Umbrella digi image in photoshop. I first put everything into their own layers and named them accordingly. When I colored the umbrella, I named the layer Umbrella, drink, sea life, sand and so forth.

1st Layer - I create the background with the sky and sand. I color everything and then use the eraser to create a mask area for the images in the foreground that will later be colored.

2nd Layer – I have colored everything and erased the areas where you will then see the black lines to show the digi image to be more crisp. As I color my images, I color on a separate layer on top of the outline, so I know where to color. I have turned off the layer to show what is looks like without the black lines.

3rd Layer – final image create in to a flatten image and save as a copy in a jpg format and print on your highest color settings onto a crisp white cardstock and you are ready to use the finished color digi image for your card.

Was Taking a Break… And Now I am Back…

Hello All.

Some of you may have noticed that I started blogging and then stopped. I needed a short break, to get some things back on track and work on some major changes for Scrappin Posse, that I am excited to share with you soon. Another reason why I haven’t been blogging, I have been doing some backend maintenance to give it a fresh new look, since now I have been using Scrappin Posse for three years now. It is time to take it to the next level. I am very excited.

LOTS OF LOVE – FEB. CW CRAFT CHALLENGES

Valentine’s Day Shaker Card
Craft Warehouse – Craft Club Feb. Challenge

February is come and gone as bout as fast as winter has hit us this year.
Which is fast. Now enjoying some sunshine.

Here is a cute little card I made for Craft Warehouse my local craft store, craft club in Feb.
I was given the Bo Bunny love letter paper and pink ribbon bows, to make my craft.

I choose to make A Valentine’s shaker card layered with Bo Bunny Love Letter’s paper collection.

I cut the first paper heart paper on my cricut, cutting out a series of hearts
to showcase the music note paper in back.

The shaker beads and plastic heart, metal key that is embossed and Key to my Heart
tag were from an older make n take at a scrapbook convention. Felt it looked better
for this card instead.

For the card base I used a Close To My Heart 6×6 kraft card and sew ribbon on top of the flap
and around the card for extra texture.

Happy February Everyone. Hope all of you are staying warm. In keeping with the theme of February and LOVE, I have made a mini album, called “Lucky in Love” using on of The Hen’s Dens mini albums called, “Sweet Chic“.  I combined photos of my husband and I dating, through getting married and life. As well as showcasing and preserving some of the many fortune cookie messages we received when we would go out to dinner.

February has been a very busy month for me using the beautiful and bold colors of Bo Bunny – Serenity paper collection. First I created an Engagement double layout, A Valentine’s Day card for my family, A mini love coupon album to share with my family as well and last but least this wonderful mini scrapbook mini album of my husband and I over the years. I love how I was able to create all these wonderful projects with a unique paper line.

Since this is a mini album with 16 pages including cover and back, I have gathered all the pages using a slide show to make it easier to see them all together. In two different slide shows using Flickr slideshow
